My approach to therapy is to build an alliance with my client and to help empower them to make the changes they need to in their lives. I think the most important aspect of therapy is to create a strong therapeutic alliance and assist the client with identifying issues they are facing and teach them to use the tools they have around them to make necessary changes.
For the past several years I have worked in Child Welfare for the State of Michigan. I have worked with children and individuals from various different backgrounds. I have also worked with families to develop adoption subsidy contracts for children they are adopting. Recently, I have interned at a substance abuse detoxification facility where I worked with individuals struggling to detox from substances. I have also worked at an outpatient substance use facility to provide intensive outpatient group therapy to those struggling with substance use. My passion is to work with individuals who have or are struggling with substance use.
