As a therapist, I strive to make my clients feel safe and comfortable without providing bias or judgement, or encouraging them into doing something they wish not to. I create an environment where I talk with my client, versus at them. We are a dyad striving to work towards making your life one worth living. Therapy to me is what the client makes it to be, working with you to best meet your needs through an approach that works for you.
Through my graduate experience I worked closely with families and youth who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, utilizing a trauma informed therapeutic modality called Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Post graduate school, I worked in the non-profit world, working with all ages, focusing on mental health diagnoses (i.e. depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, PTSD, etc.), substance use disorders, and addiction.
